Experts advise checking the battery (install and charge), brakes, fluid levels, and tire pressure. It is also important to assess tire age via DOT markings and replace tires after 8–10 years of use.
Special attention is given to the gas system: since 2025, motorhomes with gas equipment must undergo an inspection every two years. Additionally, it is recommended to clean water tanks and check the validity of the general inspection (TÜV) and gas inspection. These steps help prevent breakdowns and ensure a safe first trip.
