Why Morocco is popular
According to Le Monde du Camping Car, thousands of motorhomers travel to Morocco every year to escape European cold. Travellers note the warm welcome, safety, road quality and affordable cuisine, as well as cases where locals helped in difficult situations, such as a vehicle breakdown.
Scale of the phenomenon
According to Patrick Lablanche, president of the French Federation of Motorhoming Associations and Clubs (FFACCC), between 10,000 and 12,000 French motorhomers go to Morocco annually. The publication links this to the country's proximity to Europe, sea connections, climate, variety of routes and a developed network of stops. Specialised guides list several hundred campsites and areas for motorhomers across the Kingdom.
