According to the PiNCAMP 2026 price analysis published by ADAC Hessen-Thüringen, an off-season camping night in Thuringia for a family of two adults and one child costs an average of 32 euros. Only Schleswig-Holstein is cheaper (31 euros), while Brandenburg is the most expensive (41 euros); the German average is 36 euros.
The analysis covered around 2,300 campsites; it took into account the cost of a pitch for a motorhome or a caravan with a towing vehicle, while tent pitches were not included. July and August were considered high season, and all other periods were considered off-season.
In Europe, off-season prices are lower than in high season by an average of 29%: in Croatia by 53%, in Italy and Spain by 38%. The most affordable off-season is in France (29 €), followed by Sweden (31 €) and Norway (32 €).
