A 60-year-old man planned to buy a large motorhome for 8 million yen, with savings of about 20 million yen. An hour before signing, he visited his former boss's garage; the boss had bought the same motorhome and spent 12 million yen of his retirement bonus in under a year. In the garage, he saw moss, flat tires, an expired inspection and a dusty windshield. The deal was cancelled; the man informed the seller 50 minutes before the scheduled signing.
