ADAC replaces paid camping guide with PiNCAMP app, offers 50% discount on Plus subscription

Via Claudia Camping in Lechbruck (Allgäu) has expanded its motorhome pitch to 83 spaces. The site offers a lake view, a sundowner area, and a partnership with local producers to bring regional specialties to the loungers.

Ekowax, a company specializing in motorhome and caravan cleaning products, will exhibit for the first time at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, running from August 28 to September 6. The event, held at Messe Düsseldorf on over 250,000 square meters, will feature 750 to 780 international exhibitors. Ekowax's stand will be in Hall 3, stand number 11.

About 70 motorhomes took part in the Arnold Janssen Motorhome Pilgrimage in Goch. Father Hans Peters blessed each vehicle and its occupants. The event takes place every two years and includes spiritual and tourist programs.

In Immekeppel (Overath), campers held a protest against the closure of a campsite on the Sülz river that has existed for over 60 years without official permission. The building authority demands closure, citing its location in a flood zone and lack of a permit. Protest organizer Alexander Meyen urges residents to send letters to the planning office to include the site in the land-use plan. City authorities have offered help but insist on legal compliance.

Phoenix Manufaktur from Aschbach presented the new Star 7200 RSL at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf. The motorhome is based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 519 CDI with a 140 kW (190 hp) engine, 9-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. It measures 7.70 m in length, has a gross vehicle weight of 5,500 kg and a payload of 740 kg. The interior features a rear lounge seating area (2.20×1.76 m), a kitchen with a 100-litre refrigerator, a separate bathroom with shower, two longitudinal single beds in the alcove (2.00×0.82 m each) and a 2.20 m deep garage. The starting price is €225,900.

On Saturday evening on the A9 motorway in the German state of Thuringia, a camper driver failed to notice a traffic jam and collided with several vehicles. The chain-reaction crash injured 34 people, including 11 children with special needs and their caregivers. All sustained minor to moderate injuries; none are life-threatening. Nine vehicles were damaged, and material losses are estimated at €350,000. The Berlin-bound lane was closed for 5.5 hours.
