Volkswagen updates Multivan and California

Volkswagen has unveiled refreshed versions of the Multivan and California models. Changes include a redesigned front end with LED headlights, new grille, and fresh paint options. Inside, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, revised digital instruments, and a steering column-mounted DSG selector are featured. Wireless charging now delivers 25 W, and USB-C ports provide 60 W. Travel Assist can now recognize traffic lights and supports lane change assist. Engine options include a 2.0 TDI diesel (150 hp), 2.0 TSI petrol (204 hp), and eHybrid 4Motion plug-in hybrid (245 hp). The California Beach starts at €66,087.

Classic car caravan arrives in Subotica

A classic car exhibition is taking place in Subotica on June 7. The 15th international meeting of vintage car owners was held at Palić, featuring about 80 vehicles from Serbia and the region. Exhibits include a 1929 Ford A from Hungary, a 1979 police car from Slovenia, and a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle from Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 10:00 to 13:00, the caravan will move to the city center near Plava Fontana.

Ministry allocates 52 million dinars for three associations and a camper van

Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski announced the signing of contracts with three associations supporting people with disabilities. The total funding for this year exceeds 52 million dinars, an 11% increase from the previous year's budget. For the first time, a camper van will be purchased to visit rural areas and single-person households with people with disabilities not yet reached by the system.

Ozon: Numerous campers in protected areas and on coasts — regulate their stay in Montenegro

The environmental movement Ozon has observed an increase in informal camping by camper vans and motorhomes in protected natural areas and along rivers and lakes in Montenegro. Executive director Aleksandar Perović stated that this practice strains local infrastructure, harms ecosystems, and creates unfair competition for registered campsites and rural households. Proposed measures include clearer zoning, mandatory registration, stricter inspections, and development of controlled camping zones.

Sam Branson, son of British billionaire Richard Branson, is auctioning his MAN TGE 4x4 motorhome. The vehicle, including modifications, cost £150,000, but the auction starting price is around £50,000. The 2022 motorhome features a 2.0-liter biturbo diesel engine, all-wheel drive, 8-speed DSG, off-road tires, upgraded suspension, snorkel system, and roof solar panels. Inside: king-size bed, additional rooftop tent sleeping area, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor speakers, and a projector. Mileage is just over 10,000 km. The auction takes place on May 16 at Sywell Aerodrome in England.

BMW i3 Touring (NA1) officially confirmed: electric estate with up to 900 km WLTP range

BMW Group CEO Oliver Zipse has confirmed the development of the electric BMW i3 Touring estate (internal code NA1). The model shares the platform with the i3 sedan (NA0) and is expected to offer a WLTP range of around 900 km. It will feature the latest iDrive X infotainment system, and preliminary data suggests a cargo volume of up to 1500 liters. Sales of the i3 sedan will begin in autumn 2026, with the Touring estate following in spring-summer 2027.

Campers — a forgotten segment in domestic tourism

In Serbia, on Fruška Gora, the only campsite in the Fruška Gora National Park, Eco-Camp Stražilovo, allows multi-day stays. The 20,000 sq m site is leased to a private operator who has set up three glamping tents, two caravans, and sanitary facilities. According to the park director, this is the only camping location in the area, despite the prevalence of spa resorts and apartment rentals.
