Under Article R417-12 of the French Highway Code, continuous parking of a vehicle in the same spot on a public road for more than seven days is considered illegal. Moving a motorhome a few metres each week does not guarantee resetting the count, as law enforcement may still consider it a violation. Penalties can include a fine and possible towing of the vehicle.
