The District Prosecutor's Office in Burgas launched two probes after media reports about a forest plot on Butamyata beach being leased for camping at a reduced price (€6,700 per year for 35 hectares). The Tsarevo municipality denies it is a campsite, calling it 'areas for temporary placement of tents, campers, and caravans,' and claims the tender was legal despite only two bidders (mother and son). The regional environmental inspectorate found violations: the tenant started work (digging a ditch, laying water and electricity) without a permit, faces a fine and work stoppage.
