From July 1, 2026, the Netherlands introduces a toll for trucks (categories N2 and N3) per kilometer on most highways and some other roads. However, motorhomes registered as 'kampeerwagen' (code SA) are exempt from this toll, regardless of actual weight, even if it exceeds 3500 kg.
Owners are advised to check their registration via RDW, especially for self-built, converted, or imported vehicles. Foreign owners must apply for an exemption in advance through the official portal, selecting the category 'Ander voertuig'.
