The Canary Islands government has prepared a decree regulating the placement of motorhomes and caravans. The document prohibits free camping outside specially designated zones, requires campsites to have a reception, parking spaces and sanitary facilities, and introduces a limit of 72 hours for stays in overnight zones.
Municipalities are given five years to create temporary sites. The decree is expected to come into force in September 2026.
