A group of travelers has been found guilty of contempt of court for continuing construction work on a caravan site near Chartwell, the former home of Winston Churchill. A High Court judge ruled that the men planned the move and purchased the land to establish a permanent base, installing drainage pipes and digging trenches in violation of an injunction. Local residents are calling for imprisonment and substantial fines, alleging that the travelers threw eggs, felled trees, and released horses. A separate hearing will determine the penalty.
