Poland's president has signed a law abolishing the obligation to pay the e-TOLL toll for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (GVW up to 3.5 t) when towing a trailer. The new rules take effect 60 days after publication in the Journal of Laws, likely in the second half of September 2026. Until then, the current rules apply: if the combined GVW of the car and trailer exceeds 3.5 t, drivers must register in e-TOLL, pay tolls, and provide geolocation data. The fine for non-payment is 500 zlotys, and for incorrect data 250 zlotys. After the change, these fines for cars with trailers will be abolished.
