MTPLM – Maximum Technically Permissible Laden Mass

Weight & Dimensions Europe United Kingdom

GVW, gross vehicle weight, MAM, maximum authorised mass, GVWR

MTPLM is the maximum total weight of a motorhome or caravan, including all passengers, luggage, and equipment, as specified by the manufacturer and shown on the VIN plate.

Exceeding MTPLM is illegal and invalidates insurance. Motorhomes over 3,500 kg MTPLM require a Category C1 driving licence in Europe. The figure appears in the vehicle registration document and handbook.
