From September 21, 2026, an amendment to Poland's public roads law comes into force, abolishing the electronic e-TOLL fee for vehicles with a permissible maximum mass of up to 3.5 tonnes towing a trailer, as well as for motorhomes, cars with caravans and buses used for individual tourism. Previously, the fee applied to vehicles with a total mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes, including buses regardless of mass.
The data of such vehicles will be automatically removed from the e-TOLL register. Owners can apply for a refund of unused funds within six months of the law's entry into force, i.e. until March 21, 2027. According to one source, if no application is submitted within this period, the funds will be transferred to the National Road Fund.
