Poland: New camper rental rules and possible e-toll exemption
Original source: Prawo.pl

In Brief

In Poland, renting a camper requires a B driving license, age 25–26, and 3–4 years of experience. High-season prices range from 590 to 1500 zloty per day. A bill to exempt motorhomes and caravans from e-toll is under public consultation until May 20, 2026.

Camper rental in 2026

To drive most campers in Poland, a category B license (up to 3.5 t) is sufficient. However, rental companies impose additional requirements: a minimum age of 25 to 26 years and 3 to 4 years of driving experience. High-season rental costs range from 590 to 1500 zloty per day, depending on region and model, with mandatory insurance and a refundable deposit.

Possible toll exemption

A bill has been submitted to the Polish Sejm to exempt motorhomes and passenger cars with caravans from the electronic e-toll. The initiative aims to eliminate inequality: heavy motorhomes up to 3.5 tons are already exempt, while cars with caravans are not. The project is under public consultation until May 20, 2026.

Caravan prices in Poland in 2026

Polish portal Murator.pl has published a price overview for caravans (trailers) in 2026. Basic models start from PLN 38,900, while luxury versions reach PLN 133,300. During the pandemic, prices rose significantly due to the caravanning boom, but in 2024–2025 stabilization occurred thanks to increased supply and import correction. In 2026, prices for new models remain affordable with minimal increases in expensive segments.

Poland proposes to abolish e-TOLL for motorhomes and caravans

A bill has been submitted to the Polish Sejm to amend the Public Roads Act, proposing to exempt motorhomes (over 3.5 t GVW) and passenger cars towing caravans from the e-TOLL system when used for individual tourism. Currently, such vehicles are treated as trucks and charged between PLN 0.34 and 0.80 per kilometer. The bill still needs to pass through the full legislative process, leaving little time before the 2026 summer holidays.
