Caravan Owners Ask Ministry About Speed Limits, Inspections and Parking

Turkish manufacturer Güney Karavan has released the Minika 250, a 2.5-meter-long trailer weighing 450 kg. It includes a double bed, a kitchen with sink, stove and 90-liter fridge, and a wet bathroom with shower and toilet. Options include a diesel heater, air conditioning, solar panels and an extra bunk for a third passenger. Priced at 199,000 Turkish liras (under $5,000 at Autoevolution's reference rate), it is sold only in Turkey.

Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism has designated seven public beaches in Antalya for camping with tents and caravans. The beaches are located in the districts of Kemer, Konyaalti, Manavgat, Serik and Muratpasa. Visitors are advised to contact the facilities for current conditions and fees.

Turkey's National Camping and Caravan Federation has urged municipalities to create paid caravan parks with basic infrastructure instead of imposing restrictions. The federation argues that caravan tourism supports local businesses and that regulated sites with time limits, water and waste facilities would address both user needs and urban order.

The Pamukkale municipality has begun work on a 4,000 sq m recreation area and a 2,000 sq m camp and caravan site facing the UNESCO World Heritage site. The camp site will have capacity for 5 caravans and 14 motorhomes. Mayor Ali Rıza Ertemur said the projects are expected to boost tourism in the region.

The facility will operate around the clock and be accessible to people with disabilities.
