Pamukkale starts construction of recreation area and camper site

Seydişehir mayor Hasan Ustaoğlu announced a project for a caravan and tent camping zone in Kuglu Nature Park, including modernized picnic areas.

Pamukkale Municipality has started construction on an open recreation area and a camping area for motorhomes and caravans. The project, led by Mayor Ali Rıza Ertemur, includes a 4,000-square-meter recreation zone with a restaurant, viewing platforms, and an amphitheater, as well as a 2,000-square-meter camping area with spaces for 5 caravans and 14 motorhomes. The facilities overlook Pamukkale's travertine terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and aim to boost tourism in the region.

A new campsite for caravans and tents is being built in the Seydişehir district of Konya, Turkey. The project, initiated by the Seydişehir municipality, will cover 50,000 square meters and include 37 caravan pitches and 30 tent sites. Facilities will include showers, toilets, a communal kitchen, laundry, barbecue areas, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The campsite is expected to boost tourism in the region.

In Turkey, current prices for caravan rentals and campsites have been published. Renting a towable caravan costs between 1,000 and 5,000 liras per day, while a week-long rental ranges from 7,500 to 35,000 liras. Renting a motorhome costs between 3,500 and 15,000 liras per day, with a deposit required. Campsite fees range from 300 to 3,500 liras per night, electricity is charged separately (30–500 liras per day), and laundry costs about 200 liras. On the second-hand market, towable caravans sell from 55,000 to 5,750,000 liras, and motorhomes up to 28,000,000 liras.

In Seferihisar (Izmir), local residents complain about the growing number of caravans on the coastline, which create visual and noise pollution. In Datça (Muğla), inspections of camping with caravans and tents in forested areas and beaches have been intensified due to fire risk; violators are being removed.

The new Şirinçavuş facility in Bandırma has opened, featuring a beach with 150 sunbeds and umbrellas, a cafe and restaurant with a capacity of 300, and a parking area for 50 motorhomes. Mayor Dursun Mirza announced that the motorhome parking capacity will be expanded to 100 vehicles. Entry and use of sunbeds and umbrellas are free, and the facility generates all its electricity from solar panels.
