The Compromís per Pego party has again demanded that the city council resolve the situation at the municipal motorhome area, which, they say, lacks regulation to establish fees for use and services such as water and electricity. Without a regulation, sanctions for violations are impossible, and some vehicles remain longer than the three-day limit, sometimes for weeks or months.
Party spokesperson Víctor Climent noted that users can stay for free while local residents pay for tourist accommodation outside the municipality. Faults in the electrical system and lack of water supply have also been reported, causing grid overload and breakdowns. New tourists cannot find parking spaces. Compromís insists on the need for regulation to improve the city's image and prevent abuses.
Climent also spoke of "chaos" in managing the area, criticizing the inaction of the socialist government supported by the PP. It is noted that the parking is often occupied by the same people during the high season.
