Chinese company Xiaomi, known mainly for smartphones, has unveiled the electric SUV Sky Nomad N90 in a Camping Edition. The model features a pop-up roof with an automatically unfolding bed, making it a hybrid of an SUV and a camper. Dimensions: length 5.28–5.285 m, width 1.99–1.998 m, height 1.825 m, wheelbase 3.080 m.
Powertrain
The vehicle uses an extended-range electric (EREV) hybrid system: two electric motors with a combined output of about 420–422 hp and a petrol generator (1.5 L, 152 hp) that charges the 76 kWh battery. Electric-only range is 370–380 km (WLTC/WLTP); one source reports a total range of over 1,500 km.
Interior and equipment
The cabin transforms: front seats rotate 180°, the centre console slides on rails. Standard equipment includes four built-in cabinets; optional items include a folding table and a portable projector. The Camping Edition is available only with five seats, but seven-seat versions are also approved. Climate, lighting and roof are controlled via touchscreen and voice commands.
Other models
Smaller N70 and N70 Max models (length 4.96 m) have also been announced. Launch in mainland China is expected soon; timing for other markets has not been announced.
