Xiaomi launches Studio version of SkyNomad N90 Max SUV

The 29th Beijing International Motorhome Show is being held at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park from September 5 to 14. The exhibition area exceeds 50,000 square meters, with more than 300 vehicles and over 100 motorhome brands. Admission is free, and on-site parking is available.

The 2026 Baiyun Lake Motorhome Camping Carnival has opened in Suizhou. The event runs from September 11 to 13 and features exhibitions of motorhomes, accessories, and travel routes. Hubei Province is home to 32 motorhome manufacturing enterprises, accounting for 85% of the national total and 20% of global production; annual output value reaches 60 billion yuan, with sales of 4,000 units, about 31% of the national market.

Dongfeng Xinghai V9 pop-top camper has been launched with a starting price of 258,800 yuan. It is a factory-built MPV with an integrated pop-top roof that can be used as a regular vehicle and as a camper. The regular 2027 Xinghai V9 is priced from 179,900 to 229,900 yuan, or 169,900 to 219,900 yuan with a trade-in. Dimensions are 5230/1920/1820 mm with a wheelbase of 3018 mm. Standard equipment includes a 22 L fridge, a 6 kW external discharge function and a 220 V socket; a fresh water tank, grey water tank and shower are optional. The model is positioned as an alternative to traditional motorhomes without travel restrictions.

On September 10, Geely Farizon launched the EGOE LIFE camper based on the Farizon Xingxiang V7E electric chassis. The Comfort version is priced at 145,800 yuan, the Flagship at 159,800 yuan. Dimensions are 5000×1820×2050 mm, with a pop-top height of about 2 m, allowing entry into height-restricted underground garages. A 51.4 kWh battery provides a CLTC range of 375 km, and 30–80% charging takes 15 minutes. The interior sleeps four, seats six, and includes a 70 L water tank and a 6.6 kW external discharge outlet.

On September 9 in Hefei, Anhui province, a woman parked a motorhome in a park a few hundred meters from a school so her high-school son could enter their home within minutes of leaving school. She said the child gets 20 extra minutes of morning sleep, parking costs 10 yuan per day, and water and electricity are essentially free. She plans to continue until the gaokao. Other parents report spending over 200,000 yuan on three years of nearby rent, while the motorhome cost 200,000 yuan and could recoup nearly half when sold. Online discussion has raised concerns about the impact of cramped space on the child's health and potential psychological pressure.

In 2025, China registered about 23,600 new motorhomes, up 24.5% year-on-year, with the total fleet nearing 270,000 units. The three central provinces of Hubei, Jiangxi and Henan filed 351 new models (39.9% of the national total) and accounted for nearly half of domestic sales. Hubei leads with 54 manufacturers and 253 models, while the city of Suizhou holds a 31% market share, selling over 4,000 motorhomes annually.
