At the camper show in Nagoya, tuner Mishima Daihatsu presented two new lightweight camper models, Quokka, based on the Daihatsu HiJet (Hijet) commercial van. Both models measure 3.4 meters in length. Their key feature is a full interior clad in Japanese cypress (Fuji Hinoki), which the manufacturer claims has antibacterial properties and creates a relaxing atmosphere. Improved thermal insulation is also included for comfortable overnight stays.
The models differ in sleeping arrangements: the Quokka Japan-D features a fold-out sofa bed (some sources mention a bed with a new-material mattress), while the Quokka Like offers a bunk bed for three people. Prices start at 2.87 million yen.
