Fiat Ducato celebrates 45 years since production began in 2026. The first unit rolled off the line on October 23, 1981, at the Sevel plant in Val di Sangro, Italy. Since then, over 3.5 million units have been built, and the model has gone through six generations. Ducato has become a popular van and a base for many motorhomes. In 2025, 31,370 new motorhomes based on Ducato were registered in Germany, up 17.2% year-on-year, with a market share of 41.6%. In total, about 1.6 million chassis for motorhomes have been produced since 1981.
