Mercedes-Benz has moved assembly of its Marco Polo camper van from Westfalia to its own plant in Ludwigsfelde near Berlin. Westfalia had built the model since 1984. The base van still comes from the Vitoria-Gasteiz factory in Spain. The new aluminium pop-up roof adds 10 cm of height at the rear compared with the previous fibreglass roof. Dimensions are unchanged: 5.14 m long and 1.99 m high with the roof folded. In France prices are €96,638 for the 220 d, €98,815 for the 250 d and €103,817 for the 300 d. All three versions use a 2-litre diesel engine with 163, 190 and 237 hp. Mercedes promises a panoramic roof with hatch by the end of 2026.
