Motorhome market in Italy
In July, Italy registered a record 819 new motorhomes, up 51.9% year-on-year. In 2025, 7,936 new motorhomes were registered (+10.56%), and from January to April 2026, 4,050 units (+14.96%).
Italy is Europe's third-largest motorhome manufacturer after Germany and France, exporting more than 80% of its output. Market growth is supported by rental demand and the secondary market: over the year, Italians purchased more than 44,000 motorhomes, including used ones.
The 17th Salone del Camper will be held in Parma from 12 to 20 September, which last year attracted more than 170,000 visitors. It is expected that in 2026 the number of overnight stays in campers will exceed 68 million, and direct spending will reach 5 billion euros. The Ministry of Tourism has allocated more than 25 million euros to create and upgrade more than 4,000 camper parking areas in 170 municipalities, mainly in the south and on the islands.
