Italy is experiencing a boom in camper tourism. In 2025, more than 44,000 motorhomes (new and used) were sold. New registrations rose by 10.56% compared to 2024, while re-registrations of used vehicles increased by 6.05%. The outdoor tourism market reached €8.5 billion, with 74 million overnight stays in campsites and parking areas (+3.3% from 2024).
Italy ranks third in Europe in motorhome production, exporting over 80% of its output. The Ministry of Tourism allocated €24 million to create and modernize camper parking areas in 169 municipalities. From September 12–20, 2026, the 17th Motorhome Salon will be held in Parma, featuring compact campers (40% of the market) and premium models with home automation.
