In 2025, 161,341 motorhomes and 54,169 caravans were registered in Europe, reflecting growing demand for mobile tourism. Italy's fleet exceeds 220,000 units, with registrations up 10.56% from 2024. The EU adopted a directive allowing motorhomes up to 4,250 kg to be driven with a B-class license, increasing payload capacity. The Italian government allocated €25 million to create and upgrade motorhome parking areas in 169 municipalities, but the total number of such zones (about 2,000) remains well below those in France and Germany.
