Since January 1, 2026, the motor vehicle tax for motorhomes in the Netherlands has doubled from a quarter rate to a half rate, increasing fixed costs. Additionally, rising diesel prices raise operating costs, as over 90% of motorhomes have diesel engines. The NKC association calls for a temporary return to the quarter rate, noting that motorhome owners do not receive compensation unlike commercial vehicles.
