German manufacturer Dethleffs has presented the Globebus Performance 4×4 T16, a four-wheel-drive motorhome with a weight under 3.5 tons, allowing it to be driven with a standard category B license. The weight reduction was achieved through interior layout optimization, use of lightweight furniture, and a minimalist bathroom design. Despite its off-road features like increased ground clearance and all-terrain tires, the vehicle is not marketed for extreme off-roading. Sales in Europe will begin shortly, with a price set at €94,999.

Motorhome rental prices 2026: Germany stable, Australia and New Zealand cheaper than in years

According to Campstar booking data, seven out of ten most booked destinations for motorhome rentals in 2026 are cheaper than last year. In Germany, the average daily rate increased by only 1.4%, while in Australia it dropped by 3.3% (to €136) and in New Zealand by 6.3% (to €134). Iceland is the exception, with prices surging 45.4% (to €323 per day) due to demand outpacing supply. Renting a motorhome in Australia and New Zealand is now cheaper than in Italy (€152).
