While the caravan market is shrinking in many European countries, sales in the Netherlands are growing, with a 10% increase in the first half of this year compared to 2025. One in twenty Dutch households now owns a caravan. The rise is attributed to the popularity of camping among young families and the doubling of road tax on motorhomes this year, while caravans are exempt. Dealers note demand for luxury models, but also a trend toward lighter, compact caravans due to the growing number of electric cars with lower towing capacity.
