According to industry organisations BOVAG and Kampeer en Caravan Industrie (KCI), 2,152 new caravans were registered in the Netherlands in March and April 2026, an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
The sales growth in the Netherlands contrasts with the broader European trend, where caravan sales are declining as consumers favour motorhomes. The sector notes that caravans are making a 'comeback', especially among young families who see them as a convenient format for holidays with children. This trend has strengthened since the pandemic.
