Westfalia Kipling 2026: Compact Camper on Ford Transit with AWD and Bathroom

Pössl Group has announced updates to its camper van range for the 2027 season. The seven-metre Roadstar XL Evo, based on an all-wheel-drive Mercedes Sprinter, features an electrically adjustable lifting bed and a 100-litre compressor fridge; pricing was not announced. The Summit Prime 640 receives a revised interior, and an electric pop-top roof is available for an additional 999 euros. The new Shine 640 R Evo, based on the Citroën Jumper, measures 6.40 metres and offers two separate longitudinal beds; the special edition Shine 540 ON starts at 54,999 euros. Clever Vans has updated the interior of its Select Line, including the Runner 636, priced at around 59,999 euros.

German company SOD has unveiled the Peak 8x8 camper based on a Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4158. The all-wheel-drive truck features a 15.6-litre diesel engine producing 578 hp (up to 630 hp on request), 2,800 Nm of torque, and a hydraulic rear platform capable of carrying a Fiat 500 or several motorcycles. It measures 12 m long and 4 m high, weighs 41 tonnes, and has an 800-litre fuel tank. The 7.5 m living module offers 2.3 m of interior height and 9.8 cm of thermal insulation. Pricing ranges from €2.5m to €3.5m.

The German motorhome Hymer BMC-T 680 has entered the market with a starting price of 8 million rubles. The model is built on a Mercedes Sprinter 314 base with a 143 hp diesel engine, a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 92-litre fuel tank. Inside, there are five seats, two beds (three- and two-berth), a kitchen with gas burners and a fridge, a full shower and toilet, as well as a 450 kg payload garage and a 180-litre water tank. In Russia, such solutions remain niche, but interest is growing.

Organisers of the Caravan Salon in Germany say many potential visitors are deterred from attending due to concerns about driving caravans. Despite the growing popularity of caravan holidays, some remain hesitant to visit the show.

Motorhome manufacturers are expanding their model ranges for couples for the 2026/27 season. Sixteen new models have been presented, ranging from compact camper vans under six metres to integrated motorhomes just under seven metres. Features include lifting single beds, electric lifting beds, and large kitchens or rear lounges. Some models have three or four berths, but the extra beds are generally not intended for permanent use.

The 2026 Düsseldorf Caravan Salon showcased new motorhomes, caravans and camper vans. Among the exhibits were the Reisemobile ATventure 1070 motorhome, 10.7 m long on a Mercedes-Benz Actros chassis with a slide-out kitchen and roof terrace; the Dethleffs c.core concept camper van on a Volkswagen Crafter with a lightweight aluminium Necto body; the Beauer X6 caravan with a sliding section that expands width to 3.6 m; the Bürstner Habiton 6.1 camper van on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with 4x4; the Norantz IPAR 4 on a Mercedes or MAN chassis; the Westfalia Columbus Liner on a Fiat with an optional SkyLounge pop-up roof; the Rapido V64 on a Ducato; and the Adria Supertwin 4x4 on a Mercedes. Volkswagen presented inflatable modules for the California Beach and the all-electric ID. California Cruise based on the ID. Buzz, with production starting in 2027.
