A motorhome rolled into the Rhine near Rhein-stetten (Baden-Württemberg) after its brakes failed. Some sources say the brakes malfunctioned, while others report the vehicle came off its brakes for unknown reasons while the owner was loading it.
The motorhome drifted for about 20 minutes, was towed, but then sank in the shipping fairway. Navigation was suspended for roughly an hour until a floating crane lifted the vehicle. The damage was declared a total loss. No injuries or leaks of hazardous substances were reported.
