Police in Mertingen (Donau-Ries district) are investigating an 18-year-old woman who filmed firefighters extinguishing a burning motorhome with her phone. The incident occurred Thursday evening on state road 2027 between Mertingen and Lauterbach. The 76-year-old driver noticed smoke from the engine compartment, stopped, and removed a gas cylinder before the vehicle was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported; authorities suspect a technical defect as the cause. Since the woman has no permanent residence in Germany, a security deposit was collected.
