A camper van was completely destroyed by fire on Sunday afternoon at the junction of motorways A-8 and A-6 in Baamonde, in the municipality of Begonte. The driver, the sole occupant, escaped unharmed. Firefighters from Vilalba extinguished the blaze and cooled the structure. The cause is suspected to be a battery or wiring fault, though an investigation is ongoing. Traffic was not affected.
