On Monday at about 11:30, two vehicles collided on the North West Coastal Highway in Hamelin Pool, roughly 260 km south of Exmouth and near Shark Bay. One vehicle was towing a caravan, which overturned in the crash. Two people died.
The 12-year-old passenger suffered critical injuries and was flown to a hospital in Perth by the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Police and emergency services are at the scene, and the highway between Overlander Roadhouse and Billabong Roadhouse is closed. An investigation is underway.
