Motorhome fire and thefts: incidents in Germany

The Beethoven Orchester held its annual concert at the BaseCamp hostel in Bonn. The performance took place against a backdrop of historic caravans, motorhomes, and sleeping carriages. Conductor Daniel Johannes Mayr adapted the performance to the unconventional space.

On the A7 motorway near Illertissen, a caravan's plastic roof hatch detached due to a technical defect. The part struck a following car, damaging its hood and roof, and another vehicle ran over the debris. Police estimate total damage at €6,300; no injuries were reported.

In Nonnweiler-Primstal (Saarland), unknown perpetrators broke into a guarded parking lot on June 3, 2026, around 8:35 PM and stole a white Knaus Tabbert caravan, hitching it to a blue Nissan with British plates. Police are seeking witnesses.

A resident of Werneuchen converted her VW into a camper for traveling with her husky. The conversion cost a small amount, yet the car accommodated everything needed for trips.
