A fire at the Bella Italia campsite in Peschiera del Garda, province of Verona, on Sunday morning destroyed around 30 motorhomes. At least 24 guests were taken to hospital, including seven foreign nationals: six for smoke inhalation and one with third-degree burns. The blaze also damaged 30 bungalows and several cars. According to vice-director Amedeo Cremona, a candle may have started the fire; police have ruled out arson. Firefighting was hampered by exploding gas cylinders.
