The incident was discovered on Tuesday evening (August 4) during a joint patrol of Ullswater Valley by local authorities, police, fire services, and the National Trust. Evidence of environmental damage included uprooted flora and the fire itself. The fire was extinguished, and those responsible acknowledged their actions and will receive a penalty notice.
