A fire in a roughly 600-square-metre open-sided shed in the Emsland district of Lower Saxony destroyed six caravans and damaged four others. Police estimated the damage at around 350,000 euros. The blaze is believed to have started in a high-voltage distribution box due to a technical defect. The explosion of at least one gas cylinder damaged the wall of a neighbouring company building, warped the shed's roof structure and rendered its photovoltaic system unusable. No one was injured; 75 firefighters and eight vehicles attended.
