State Police from Gaeta foiled an attempted fraudulent sale of a camper van in the commercial port of Formia. Two men, aged 22 and 32, were detained while trying to sell a vehicle obtained through fraud.
The suspects had placed an online advertisement and received a €300 deposit from a potential buyer. Inspection revealed the camper van had a fake temporary license plate and no insurance. The vehicle was also wanted in connection with an earlier fraud against the original seller.
The camper van was seized, and the men were charged with attempted aggravated fraud in complicity.
