Police in Gaeta foiled an attempt to sell a camper van obtained through fraud in the commercial port of Formia. Two men, aged 22 and 32, were arrested as they met a potential buyer who had already transferred a 300-euro deposit.
The camper van had previously been reported as the subject of a fraud, with the original seller not receiving a large sum of money. The suspects used forged documents and an illegally fitted temporary license plate; the vehicle was uninsured. They face charges of fraud and attempted fraud. The camper van was confiscated and placed under judicial custody.
