The boardwalk through the Grolloërveen nature reserve has reopened to pedestrians and cyclists. It had been closed for several weeks after a motorhome broke through the wooden planks in June. The driver took a wrong turn following a navigation error. The owner removed the vehicle from the bog a few days later. Damaged planks have been replaced, anti-slip mesh reinstalled, and the foundation was found intact. Additional maintenance, already scheduled before the incident, is planned later this year. Staatsbosbeheer emphasises the boardwalk is for pedestrians and cyclists only.
