On August 6, shortly after 8 a.m., a camper van collided with the central divider and overturned on the Shin-Tomei Expressway in Susono, Shizuoka Prefecture. The incident is believed to have been caused by a tire blowout. An 85-year-old female passenger was injured and taken to a hospital. The driver, a 57-year-old man from Adachi, Tokyo, was the owner of the vehicle.
