On the morning of April 4, 2026, a camper van overturned on the Chuo Expressway in Mizunami, Gifu Prefecture. Five family members were inside at the time. Three of them — including two children — were transported to hospital with minor injuries and are not in life-threatening condition.
After the occupants were evacuated, two trucks following behind crashed into the overturned camper van. Due to debris scattered on the road, the section of the expressway was closed to traffic for approximately six hours.
