Collision on the bridge
A camper and a recovery truck collided on the Dr. J.M. den Uylbrug bridge in Zaandam. According to source 1, the accident happened on 13 May around 10:15; according to source 2, on 12 May; according to source 4, around 10:00. The recovery truck was carrying a passenger car.
Aftermath
Both vehicles were severely damaged and were towed away. The camper's fuel tank ruptured, causing oil to spill onto the road. The bridge and road were temporarily closed, and the lane towards Thorbeckeweg was blocked. According to preliminary data, no one was injured, although a trauma helicopter and ambulance were requested. At least six recovery trucks from three companies and police worked at the scene. The cause is under investigation.
