On August 28, the Caravan Salon opened in Düsseldorf, with more than 830 exhibitors presenting motorhomes, caravans and accessories. According to the Caravaning Industry Association (CIVD), 63,329 new motorhomes and caravans were registered in Germany in the first seven months of 2026, 3% fewer than a year earlier.
Manufacturers such as Hymerⓘ and Carthago describe this as a normalization after the pandemic boom and are relying on package deals. Last year, 269,000 people visited the show; this year organizers expect 270,000 visitors from more than 80 countries. The most expensive caravan on display costs 275,000 euros, and two luxury motorhomes are priced at 2.2 million euros each.
More than 85,000 visitors attended the show in the first three days. On Saturday, queues formed at the entrance, so organizers recommend using the Rheinbahn public transport or booking parking spaces in advance for the upcoming weekend. The show runs until Sunday. Comedian Hannes Höfer also visited the event, noting its special appeal.
The show covers an area of about 250,000 square meters. For the first time, separate halls have been opened for roof tents and off-road equipment. The show runs until September 6; tickets cost 18 euros on weekdays, 20 euros on weekends, and 6 euros for children. The ADAC "Camper of the Year 2026" competition final will also take place during the show.
