From 12 to 20 September, the Basilicata tourism board (Apt) is participating in the Salone del Camper in Parma to promote the region to visitors interested in outdoor tourism. According to Fiere di Parma, the 17th edition of the show hosts over 310 exhibitors from 22 countries and more than 600 recreational vehicles across 110,000 square metres. In the first four months of 2026, registrations rose by 14.96%, nearly double the European average, according to Apc data. Basilicata has 53 rest areas and pitches in its camping villages, according to the updated 'Basilicata in Camper' guide.

The 17th Salone del Camper – Caravan Accessori Percorsi e Mete will take place in Parma from 12 to 20 September 2026, organised in collaboration with APC (Associazione Produttori Caravan e Camper). In 2025 the show attracted over 107,000 visitors (+3%), with more than 310 exhibitors from 22 countries and 600 vehicles displayed across 110,000 sq m. According to Promocamp Italia president Luigi Boschetti, non-hotel tourism grew by 14.7% in the first quarter of 2026, and the Outdoor Tourism Observatory estimates over 68 million overnight stays and around €5.12 billion in direct spending.

Camping Le Fonti celebrates 50th anniversary

Camping Le Fonti in Cervarezza (Ventasso) marks 50 years since 1975. Since 1975, it has grown into a 4-star campsite at 1,000 m altitude with 260 pitches for motorhomes and caravans and 220 bungalows, most privately owned. It hosts tens of thousands of tourists annually, mainly from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Denmark and the UK. Since 1975, additions include an indoor pool, wellness centre, restaurant, bar, gym and playground. The restaurant is now Thai Pam, run by Thai chef Panjaree Boonchuay. Since 1975, three-day celebrations feature music, shows and lunch.
