In Tomar, Portugal, a temporary motorhome parking area has been set up on Avenida Maria de Lourdes de Mello e Castro, two kilometers from the old lot near the municipal stadium. The old lot is now used exclusively for dumping from 10:00 to 20:00. The changes are linked to the redevelopment of the area for a future city park.
However, the new lot remains empty. Motorhome users complain about the lack of infrastructure, the distance from the center, and the proximity to a busy road. The municipality has suggested using the old lot for waste disposal and announced a temporary service area.
According to local reports, the previous lot near the António Fortes stadium was closed due to storm damage and non-compliance with requirements (overnight stays were prohibited). Mayor Tiago Carrão confirmed that work is underway on a full campsite and caravan parking.
