The Sejong City Facilities Management Corporation has announced that the public Jeonwolsan campsite in Sejong-dong will be closed from 21 December 2026 to 26 February 2027. The closure is meant to prevent accidents caused by icy access roads in winter and to allow comprehensive maintenance of the site.
The campsite covers 4,505 m² and has 14 pitches for motorhomes and 8 pitches in an easy camping zone, along with toilets and showers. From this year the corporation applies a rule of closing every year from the Monday of the fourth week of December until the last day of February. If the last day of February falls on a weekend, the site closes until the Friday before, so visitors can still use it at weekends.
During the closure, camping facilities and decks will be repaired, water, sewage and electrical systems checked, pipes protected against freezing, the sandpit disinfected and water tanks cleaned. CCTV monitoring and regular patrols will continue. The campsite aims to reopen on 27 February 2027. Acting chairman Shin Eun-jae asked citizens for their understanding of the winter closure and said the facilities would be thoroughly checked to provide a safer and more comfortable camping environment.
