In Brief

Sales of new motorhomes in Italy rose by 10.56% in 2025, with the market reaching €8.5 billion. Meanwhile, residents of Baratti Bay report illegal overnight parking of campers in blue zones, raising tensions ahead of summer.

The Italian motorhome market continues to expand. In 2025, sales of new motorhomes increased by 10.56%, while the second-hand market grew by 6.05%, with over 44,000 units sold. The market value reached €8.5 billion. However, rising fuel prices could add hundreds of euros to annual costs, prompting travelers to opt for shorter trips.

Parking issues in Baratti

Ahead of the summer season, on May 31, residents of Baratti Bay reported widespread violations of parking rules by motorhomes and campers. Vehicles were parked in blue paid parking zones not intended for overnight stays, including in front of restaurants and on Via dei Villini. Locals note that drivers take advantage of the lack of evening police enforcement.

The Salone del Camper, a key industry event, will take place in Parma from September 12 to 20.
